Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of teaching is to incorporate each student’s unique goals, needs, strengths, and interests into account as well as create a multi-sensory approach to learning that incorporates instructional hands-on activities that involve and accommodate all students. In addition, I make certain to create a collaborative, warm, and safe classroom environment that has visual supports and is literacy and print-rich. This helps enable students to further their academic development and foster a long-term commitment to learning. I believe establishing a solid foundation of education in students is an essential concept needed for learning new information.
Students can learn in many different ways, such as working in teams or independently, using a multisensory approach, hands-on interactive learning, purposeful play in interest areas, and making school-to-home connections during lessons and activities. Students are active learners, which helps them construct their own ideas and understanding through the use of everyday tools and activities in a classroom. This helps them formulate their own unique way of learning and understanding in the classroom.

Becoming a teacher has been a lifetime goal of mine. I believe education is a very important element in a person’s life. Becoming a teacher helps create an educational foundation for others and introduces the necessary building blocks for acquiring knowledge. Studying to become a teacher has given me a chance to be a part of someone’s educational path, and provide them with the necessities they need to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Becoming a supportive, caring, and patient teacher helps further a student’s self-confidence, emotional well-being, and academic studies. During my teaching experiences, observations, ongoing research, collaboration, and studies, I have learned that a teacher plays a very important and crucial role in a student’s life. A teacher’s role has a large impact on creating and guiding a student’s educational path to success.
As an educator, I will continue to engage in ongoing inquiry, problem-solving, and innovation. It is important for all educators to obtain professional growth and development. My daily goals are to collaborate on new strategies and techniques to support all students, to help students strive to the best of their ability as well as help them to become active thinkers and learners. Three key principles to follow are to promote diversity, teach rigor, and become a model for others.
