Professional Contributions
As an educator, professional contributions, growth, and reflection are crucial to the development of my profession. Participating in ongoing inquiry, professional development, and school-wide events not only enhances my professional advancement but also helps ensure the development of the students and the school community. I am always prepared, willing, and capable of contributing to my school and school community in more ways than one. It brings joy to me to become involved, further my knowledge and expertise, and make a difference in the lives of my students.
Ongoing professional development meetings and team teacher meetings are an important way to further my knowledge as an educator, share experiences, and discuss together how we can implement student learning and growth. Working together as a team is crucial to our success as individuals and for our students.
In 2019, I volunteered to be a part of the Sunshine Committee. This committee was assembled to brainstorm ideas on how we can come together as a unit and think about ways that we can incorporate team-building activities as well as ways to get together and merge different sites where we can discuss our own glows, grows, ideas, and student impacts.
I recently volunteered for the 2024 Winter Mystical Ball, hosted by Dr. Abrams. Dr. Abrams created a wonderful event with our students and school community in mind. This free event had a spectacular turnout and involved many activities such as music and dancing, a bounce house, face painting, characters, food, a book fair, arts and crafts, and much more! It was a great night for students and their families to enjoy together with the support of our school staff. Volunteering to help make this event special for our school community was a fun and extraordinary experience. I wholeheartedly enjoyed working alongside my colleagues and administration. Seeing all of the smiling faces brings happiness and warmth to my heart. I strive to be a team player and volunteer for events that can support my students and the school community. I am looking forward to the next event where I can continue to participate in and help.
